?Abstract? Tourist traffic is one of the six indispensable factors(food, shelter, means of traveling, sight-seeing, shopping and entertainment)for tourist activities, is the precondition for production and development of tourism, and is the lifeline for the development of tourist industry. Along with economic development and social advancement, people have had increasingly more leisure time as well as swiftly and violently increased demands on traveling and leisure, so the traffic demand mode with priority given to commuting will be inevitably replaced brought by plentiful tourists to leisure traveling in future.The paper composes academic study and example study. The academic study: Firstly, the paper introduces the tourist traffic in the tourist industry and urban transport in the status and role. And to learn from foreign experts and scholars on urban tourism research experience in transport planning, to transportation planning theory as a guide to establish urban tourism transport planning research content. Second, the papers are doing a lot of tourists traffic travel to investigate and analyze, based on the obtained traffic flow characteristics of urban tourism, and from visitors composition, spatial and temporal distribution, travel mode of a detailed analysis of several aspects of the travel characteristics of visitors.
