A Super Party- Super Hero Birthday Party | The Family That Laughs ...

Calling all Super Heroes?? Are you out there?? Today is your day!

We had such a fun day throwing my son?s 3rd birthday party that I thought I would share my ideas and borrowed ideas for how you can throw your very own Super Hero Birthday Party.

The invitation went out via evite, using there super hero theme (who knew).? I like using evite as a way to save some money and time on the paper and tracking the numbers part of the party.

I?borrowed the idea of capes from some pin?s on pinterest.? The thought?of having the toddlers (16- gasp!) running around with their capes on was just too cute to pass up.? I decided that for the babies (all 5?of em?) instead of capes and masks I would buy them colorful bibs to wear. Instead of placing them in gift bags, I saved a few $$$?s by hanging them on the clothes line, no one seemed to mind having one less bag to bring home.

Someone had the idea of putting a bib on our dog Skyfox too- this made me laugh when I looked at him running around the yard and then hiding under this chair for some shade.?

I had hoped that the kids would spend some time decorating their capes- yep, that didn?t happen.? It was a nice day and with our new playground, bubbles, and a parachute to run under they were not in the sitting down arts and craft mood.? I can?t say that I blame them.

Some of the kids did decorate the felt/stickers that I bought with the animal and letters (also stickers)- so at least some of the art supplies were used.

The kids gifts were the capes and I hear from the parents that many have not taken them off since, so I guess they were a hit.

We ended the party with cake (super hero picture of course on the cake) and then?.the bad guy came.

We gathered all the kids in the house and told them the bad guy was coming and they had to chase him away.? Just then the shark came down the stairs and into the living room.? The kids were both scared and excited at the same time?. the shark was a gift from the Uncle and Auntie in CA?it is an Air Swimmer and controlled by a remote control so you can move it around the room to were you want it to go- wild-.? The kids chased the shark out of the room and felt like real super heroes.

After everyone left we opened some presents.? We mostly received donations like we asked for to Birthday Wishes.

And then these?Super Heroes took a nice long afternoon nap.
