Down ticket campaign finance reports : Bluegrass Politics

FRANKFORT ? Wednesday was the deadline for candidates seeking one of Kentucky?s constitutional offices to file campaign-finance reports with the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance.

The 32-day pre-election report is the public?s first peak into fund-raising by the candidates since the May primary. All of the state?s top offices are on the ballot Nov. 8. Candidates had to electronically file or postmark their reports by midnight Wednesday.

The following had their reports to the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance late Wednesday:

  • Republican Bill Johnson, a Todd County businessman who is running for Secretary of State, has raised $62,451 this quarter and has $42,581 on hand heading into the Nov. 8 general election.
  • Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes,? reported raising $412,278 for the Secretary of State?s race and has $355,598 cash on hand.
  • Democratic auditor candidate Adam Edelen reported raising $642,130 and has $540,805 left to spend in the coming weeks.
  • John Kemper, the Republican candidate for auditor, reported raising $35,664.59 and has $10,102 cash on hand.
  • Bob Farmer, a Louisville Democrat running for commissioner of agriculture, raised $112, 288 this quarter and has $95, 581 cash on hand.
  • Republican James Comer, a state representative from Tompkinsville, has raised about $650,000 in his bid to be agriculture commissioner and has $400,000 cash on hand.
  • Todd P?Pool, a Republican running for attorney general, raised $485,000 for the general election and has $81,661.20 left to spend by Nov. 8.
  • Democratic Attorney General Jack Conway raised $709,905 so far and has $457, 803 cash on hand.
